NIP Is a component of the City of Shreveport's overall neighborood revitalization strategy that supports the efforts of Neighborhood-based Organizations to implement redevelopment initiatives at the neighborhood level in the district. Through this program, BDI and members of the community come together for the annual "Great American Clean-Up." In addition, BDI has purchased and donated three ADA approved picnic tables, player benches and uniforms for community sports programs at Hattie Perry Park, school uniforms and school supplies.
Each week senior citizens gather for social activities. Research has shown that social activities improve their ability of life by broadening their post-retirement options, reducing the likelihood of depression and improving physical and emotional weel-being.
